About Me

Nancy Hinman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in Depth Psychology for individuals and couples.

She received her BA in Theater Arts from Sonoma State University, her MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and her PhD in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Nancy is an interactive depth psychotherapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide a safe enviornment that nurtures a trusting relationship between herself and her clients. This relationship is the basis for all of the work. From this foundation she feels that we can invite the unconscious into the room and begin the healing process. There are many ways to facilitate healing and hosting the unconscious: dream interpretation, drawing, poetry, images, noting somatic reactions are a few of the ways, and of course, listening. So many of us just need to tell our stories and be heard. But what is most important is to discover the client's very specific way. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them listen to themselves and find out who they are.
